As 2024 winds down, it’s time to reflect on one of my favorite pastimes: reading! My goodreads Year in Review is here, and I can’t wait to share the highlights of an incredible year in books with you.

By the Numbers:

  • Total Books/Audiobooks Read: 117
  • Total Pages: 43,565
  • Average Book Length: 372 pages

While those numbers are fun to look at, the true joy of reading this year came from the incredible stories and lessons I experienced through both fiction and non-fiction. Narrowing down my favorites was nearly impossible (seriously, how does anyone pick just five?!), but here are some standouts that stayed with me long after I turned the last page:

Fiction Favorites:

  • A Forgery of Roses by Jessica Olson: A breathtaking tale of art, secrets, and the extraordinary power of creation.
  • A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas: A stunning continuation of Feyre’s journey that completely swept me away.
  • The Roommate Pact by Allison Ashley: A heartwarming romance that’s equal parts witty and emotional.
  • Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg: A thrilling and passionate story that kept me glued to the pages.
  • Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage: Who doesn’t love a sweet and sassy cowboy romance?
  • Dance Me a Dark Haired Beauty by Tess Marshall: A poetic and deeply romantic tale that’s as dreamy as its title.
  • Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Mae: This one’s for all the fantasy lovers who like a dash of villainy.
  • Keep Me by Sara Cate: Intense, emotional, and utterly unputdownable.
  • All the Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles: A gripping romantic suspense that had me hooked from start to finish.
  • Beg, Borrow or Steal by Sarah Adams: Adams always delivers feel-good stories, and this was no exception.
  • The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: Twists, turns, and riddles galore in this addictive YA mystery.

Non-Fiction Gems:

  • Glow in the F*!%ing Dark by Tara Schuster: A guide to reclaiming your light, packed with humor and heart.
  • Coach Builder by Donald Miller: A must-read for anyone looking to grow as a leader and mentor.
  • Abundant Ever After by Cathy Heller: (Okay, technically I’m still finishing this one, but it’s already a favorite!) Cathy’s wisdom is a game-changer.
  • The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington: My second year revisiting this time-management classic, and it’s just as impactful as ever.

Gratitude and Connection:

Okay, real talk: one of the absolute best parts of this year has been really connecting with Sami and Jessica with all the books! They’ve somehow made an already amazing hobby even better, and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without them now. From sharing recs to laughing (and occasionally crying) over our latest reads, these two have been an unexpected gift and I am so incredibly grateful for them. Cheers to more stories, more laughs, and hopefully fewer TBR piles falling over in 2025!

Looking Ahead to 2025:

This year’s reading journey has been nothing short of magical, and I’m already dreaming about what’s next. Whether you’re into epic fantasy, swoon-worthy romance, edge-of-your-seat thrillers, or life-changing non-fiction, there’s always something new to discover.
