Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
OMG, WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ FOURTH WING?? 🤯🐉 Like, seriously, who let me live my life not having read this absolute masterpiece?? Rebecca Yarros had me in a chokehold from page one. ✨ The DRAMA, the STAKES, the DRAGONS??? 🐲🔥 I want to be a dragon rider so badly it physically hurts. Honestly, I’d probably die in the first week 💀, but it would be worth it if a dragon decided I was worthy. 🙌
And can we talk about Xaden?? 😮💨 My GOD. Dark, broody, deadly Xaden, who’s out here being all “I’ll protect you but also challenge you to your limits because you’re stronger than you think.” 🖤 Sir, HOW DARE YOU. How dare you own my soul like this?
Also, the *tension* between Violet and Xaden??? 🔥⚡ I was feral. They’re sparking like a fire hazard every time they’re in the same room, and I was just over here screaming, “KISS HER, YOU IDIOT!” 😤💋 And then when he DID??? I had to put the book down and scream into a pillow. 😭 Absolute perfection. 👏
Rebecca Yarros, you’re a menace. 😡 I’m simultaneously furious and obsessed with you for creating this world and making me care about literally every character. 😩 Now I’m scared for book two because I’m emotionally unstable and can’t handle another round of “will my faves survive?” 💔
In conclusion: I’m now a dragon girlie for life. 🐉💃 If someone could hand me a signet power and a dragon to ride, that’d be great, thanks. 🥹

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.
But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away…because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.
With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.
She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.
Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.
Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die
